Teresa Strasser - Bio
Television viewers know Teresa Strasser best as the host of hit TLC
design show, "While You Were Out," for which she received an Emmy Award
nomination. Due to the regularity of reruns, she is frequently still
asked to redecorate the homes of passing motorists and street vendors.
After working for TLC, she joined the staff of "Good Day New York" as a
feature reporter and also became the New York correspondent for both
"Good Day Live" and "On-Air With Ryan Seacrest." Strasser has covered
the red carpet for the Emmy Awards and the Tony Awards, for E! and TV
Guide Network, respectively. She currently co-hosts TV Guide Network's
weekly pop-culture roundup, "TV Watercooler" with comedian John
Fugelsang.
Before going in front of the camera, Strasser (a native of San
Francisco) worked as a writer for numerous newspapers, magazines and
television shows, most notably, Comedy Central's "Win Ben Stein's
Money," for which she won an Emmy Award. Other TV writing credits
include "Who Wants to be a Millionaire?" and "The Chair," both for ABC.
Journalism achievements include three Los Angeles Press Club Awards,
including honors in both 2004 and 2005 for Columnist of the Year (for
small newspapers). She has also garnered Simon Rockower Awards for both
Excellence in Feature Writing and Writing about Singles. Additionally,
her work has been featured in the popular "Fashion Police" section of US
Weekly. Currently, Strasser is a regular contributor to the Calendar
Section of the Los Angeles Times.
Though she studied journalism at New York University and has worked as
an actual reporter since the age of 19, she has also played a fake one
no fewer than six times, including in the straight-to-video instant
classic "Bring it On: All or Nothing." She has also appeared on dozens
of countdown shows for the E! Entertainment Network as well as on CNN
Headline News.
Vying for title of Obscure Princess of Most Media, Strasser spends the
early morning hours as radio co-host and News Girl for The Adam Carolla
Show, which is syndicated throughout the West Coast, and also hosts TV
Watercooler, a weekly review and Interview show on TV Guide Network.
